Please Join Us for Our Upcoming Online Teaching and Learning Meeting
Unfortunately, faculty continue to face academic integrity concerns and infractions. Our next online teaching luncheon addresses academic integrity plus Turnitin, a Canvas-compatible, Penn State available tool that provides instructors with a way to help prevent and flag plagiarism plus assist with the student writing process. If these topics resonate with you, we hope you will join us Friday, January 25 from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. via Zoom for a discussion and information exchange.
Our Online Teaching and Learning Meetings typically happen the last Friday every month, from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. via Zoom. As a reminder, meetings will be recorded for those who are unable to attend. The recording will be placed inBox. If you would like to suggest an agenda topic, please contact Amy Garbrick at agarbrick@ist.psu.edu.
The next meeting, on February 22 from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. will look at Office 365.
Canvas Tip: How Do Students See Faculty Feedback?
The Canvas SpeedGrader allows faculty to give assignment overview comments, as well as detailed inline comments and feedback on student submissions. While we know many faculty members take time to give detailed and thorough feedback on student students, Canvas doesn’t always make it easy for students to see that feedback.
If you provide robust assignment feedback to students while grading, you may also want to pass along the following Canvas guide that helps explain how students can see the feedback you provide: How do I view annotation feedback comments from my instructor directly in my assignment submission?
Adobe Collaborative Courses Now Available
Instructors may now register for free Adobe Collaborative Courses which aim to instruct faculty on tools and how they may better incorporate digital medial into coursework. These structured courses start in January with the first course beginning on January 21. Topics include Photoshop, After Effects, and many other tools. After course completion, faculty will receive a certificate and digital badge.
